Forged Men’s Ministry

The busyness of things obscures our concentration on God. We must maintain a position of beholding Him, keeping our lives completely spiritual through and through. Let other things come and go as they will; let other people criticize us as they will; but never allow anything to obscure the life that “is hidden with Christ in God (Col 3: 2-3).
— Oswald Chambers

Forged is the men’s ministry here at LCF. We are made up of a group of men from all different backgrounds and ages. We aim to meet regularly for times of fellowship, worship and of course socials!

The word Forged comes from the act of being shaped in moulded, as men at LCF we hold this to be true of us, that we are refined by fire, to act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly.

We believe men need a forum to forge good strong friendships, which over time become open enough for conversation about stuff other than small talk about work or football!   We aim to be a ‘band of brothers’, who walk together through the thick and the thin of life. We aim to equip men with tools and resources that make church a great place for husbands, future husbands, sons and friends.  It’s not about making church a men’s club, but rather it’s a place to really encounter Jesus, to get excited by and fall in love with Jesus, and then that overflows into personal and family lives.

 The 5 pillars of FORGED

1: PRAYER. We believe in the power of prayer and encourage each other in developing a regular personal and corporate prayer rhythm.

2: SCRIPTURE. As Christians Scripture is the foundation of what we build our lives on, we explore the word of God together, incorporating into our daily lives.

3: BROTHERHOOD. Men need solid friendships with other men to encourage, champion and come alongside.

4: ACCOUNTABILITY. We endeavour to make sure we are looking out for, and protecting each other.

5: PERSONAL MINISTRY. Christianity is not a spectator sport, we believe men who are growing in Christ are involved in personal ministry and we endeavour to release all of our men into service.
